Bella wandered aimlessly along the creek, not really minding anything. She was hungry and tired and wanted to rest. She lifted her head as a soft breeze blew and inhaled deeply. She didn't smell anyone else there, so she was safe to relax. The Border Collie spotted a few shady trees a little ways away, but paused to take a drink from the creek. After she drank her fill, the young dog trotted over to the trees.
Bella sat down on her haunches and took another look around before sinking down to the ground. Her paws splayed out in front of her, her black and white head resting on her paws. She closed her eyes, but didn't fall asleep. Not yet at least.

Black paws walked along the ground heavily as a brute, half doberman and half rottweiler, walked along the creek. He scented a female not too far away so he quickened his pace. His cold, hazel eyes looked around. Nothing so far. Finally the scent got stronger and he saw a black and white border collie resting. Outlaw wouldn't hurt her but he would definitely taunt her. After a minute or so, he was on the other side of the creek, ten feet away. The very tall brute began walking through the creek towards her. He stopped when he was a few feet away and sat down. His hazel eyes glimmered a bit with excitement. Outlaw hadn't spoken with someone in a good while so this was sort of a treat for him. So, Miss, what might your name be?, he said in sort of a hiss. He flicked his pointed ears and a smile came across his face. Outlaw wasn't your average dark. Sure he was mean just like the rest but he also quite enjoyed talking. He loved to pick on other dogs, especially females. It was so easy to get under their skin. He just sat and stared at the female, waiting for her to speak.

Bella's head snapped up when she heard a voice beside her. She mentally kicked herself for not paying attention to anything. Her ears perked and she cocked her head. The male before her was a half-breed, and by the smell of him, he was Dark. Bella herself was neutral, so it didn't matter who she talked to.
My name is Bella. And what might yours be?
She asked him, pushing herself up into a sitting position. Her ears lowered just a tad; hardly noticeable. The Border Collie wasn't used to talking to other dogs, so this was almost a special occasion. She wouldn't say that she avoided others, but she just didn't normally start a conversation.

Outlaw smirked and spoke. Outlaw. He looked at this female. She was smaller than him. Most dogs were. He was very muscled and had extremely long legs. He also had a docked tail from an incident in his puphood. He smiled and said, So, Miss Bella are you? What would you be doing out here this fine evening? He spoke but he hid the fakeness behind it. Dogs that knew him would know that he was putting on this gentleman act but since they had never met, he guessed she didn't have the slightest idea. He would act this way and then suddenly act like a dark. He didn't really care but the idea amused him. He figured this female would be a bit shocked. He yawned showing his glimmering fangs. Outlaw got bored easily so this made him extra bored. He liked talking and this female was quiet. Yet again, he just sat staring at Bella, waiting for her to speak. OCC: Sorry so short and I hope you don't mind that I said he was bigger. He is just a tall dog. xD

OCC: That's fine Bella is a short dog. *shrugs*
Bella yawned herself, finally getting ready to sleep. Well, that wasn't happening any time soon. She considered his question and decided it was best if she just told the truth. Well, I was just resting. So it wasn't the whole truth, but Outlaw had no way of knowing that. She swished her tail on the ground once and finally stood on all fours. She studied Outlaw and felt a little intimidated by his size. She was rather small compared to him. She was thin as well. She hadn't been eating regularly and it was starting to show. She stretched and licked her chops before looking back at Outlaw, waiting for him to say something.

A smile crossed the brute's face. You seem quite skinny. Perhaps I could catch you a meal. Outlaw was now just being a gentleman. He turned around and walked off quite a bit, searching for something for her to eat. Nothing. He growled but finally heard a crackle in the leaves. There it went again! He looked around quickly. A rabbit! He took off, his long legs gaining speed every step. Finally he was right behind the rabbit. Suddenly he tripped over his paws and he slammed into the ground. His nose and mouth filled with dirt. Great. He picked himself off of the ground, turned, and began walking back to Bella. On his way back he saw something move beneath his paws. He jumped up but soon slammed his paw down. Something was wiggling beneath it! He put his head down and grabbed it with his teeth. It was a shrew. At least he would be able to give Bella something. When he arrived back, he dropped the small shrew at her paws. It's not much but at least it is something. He smiled and stepped back a few feet, not wanting to crowd Bella. He sat down and waited for Bella to speak.
OCC: Outlaw is now a light! xD

Bella was having a hard time containing her laughter as she watched Outlaw try to catch a rabbit. She couldn't help it; she barked a quiet laugh as he finally caught something. He was being awfully kind to her, which wasn't very often for the Collie. He came back to her and dropped the shrew at her feet. She looked down at it, then back up at the male in front of her.
Thank you.
She said kindly and sniffed at it and finally ate it. It tasted pretty good, actually. She licked her chops and looked back up at Outlaw and smiled. She didn't exactly know what to say; she already thanked him.
Thank you again - it was very good. It sounded lame, but it worked.

Outlaw smiled as he saw Bella eat the shrew. He was glad he had made her happy and given her something to eat. Though Outlaw was mean-looking, he was a nice dog. He was just scarred from fights in his younger days. The fight with his father had really scarred his pelt terribly but he didn't mind. He flicked his ears again as she spoke. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed that snack. So Bella, do you reside in any of the four packs around here? Outlaw wasn't trying to be nosy. He just wanted to start a conversation so that they wouldn't have to just sit and stare at each other. Outlaw was quite happy. He was enjoying talking the little bit that he had. He hadn't spoken with another dog in what seemed like forever. He yawned and sat quietly, waiting for Bella to respond.

Bella's ears flickered in his direction, catching Outlaw's words. Wow. What a question for the Collie. She shook her head and smiled. No, I don't. I can't seem to find a place to call home. She said. It sounded cheesy, like those old movies humans used to watch. But it was true. She had never like any of the places she had visited, except a few. But she hadn't been welcome in the few she had liked.
Do you? She asked him, genuinely curious. She let her baby pink tongue roll out of her black mug with the heat. She swished her tail a few times and lowered onto the ground, feeling comfortable enough to relax a little bit more. She cocked her ebony and white head and waited for his answer patiently.

Outlaw smiled again, a few fangs protruding from beneath his lips. As she asked him the same question he said, I haven't found a place to live either. I prefer loner life but trust me, I wouldn't pass up an alpha position. He chuckled and his hazel eyes brightened. When he had arrived, he was somewhat depressed, and now he was quite happy. He turned his head and looked over towards the creek. He wanted to roll around and act like a pup but it would make him look foolish. Outlaw watched as Bella swished her tail. He chuckled just a bit for he had no tail to flick. All he had was a little stump of a tail. However it was kind of better than having a long tail. Or at least he thought so. He then lay down too. Outlaw did not know why he had pointed ears. Most dobermans had floppy ears but oddly he was born with them. Outlaw then waited for Bella to speak.

Bella shrugged as she watched him lay down in front of her. I could never really commit to a place to live. I've been in the 'loner life' since I was one. But I guess it would be nice to be in a pack. Wouldn't be so lonely. Her thoughts had taken her back to her puppy-hood when she was wandering around, looking for her mother. The past she would rather forget.
With a slight shake of her black and white head, she cleared her mind of those haunting thoughts. She focused once more on Outlaw and what he was doing. She glanced over towards the creek. Outlaw had done that before, and Bella could only imagine what was running through his head then. She was thirsty, though. But not enough to make her get up. She stretched and crossed her front paws.
Without really thinking, she swished her tail again and her head lowered to rest on her white paws. Her hazel eyes remained on Outlaw as she waited for him to speak. She was trying desperately to avoid the topic of her puppy-hood in her mind, but not succeeding very well. She silenced her thoughts and waited for Outlaw to respond.

The brute then replied, Yeah. I've been a loner since I could hunt for myself. He shared only a bit of his past for he kept his past hidden except for a few bits. Having such a terrible past is the reason he kept his history secret. Outlaw looked over at the water once again and finally got up. He wanted to go roll around and really didn't care if she made fun of him. He had been picked on most of his life because he was tall. It didn't bother him much anymore. When he was at the creek, he lay down and began rolling around. The water cooled his pelt that had been hot due to the sweltering weather. When he stood up, he shook himself, flinging water everywhere. That had been quite fun but he also felt a bit foolish. When he lay back down, a few feet from Bella he said, I was playing like a pup, wasn't I? He didn't need to ask. He had acted like a pup and he liked it. Since most of his puphood had been surviving, it was nice getting to act like a pup for once. He chuckled and yawned, waiting for Bella to speak.

Bella laughed as she watched Outlaw roll around in the water like a puppy. He reminded her of herself when she was little. She missed doing that. He came back after a moment and asked if he was behaving like a pup. She shrugged and stood up. Flashing him a quick smile, she trotted over to the creek and plopped down and started rolling around herself. It felt good. Like she had been missing out on something her whole life. Well, she had been.
When she stood up, she was laughing. Bella walked over to Outlaw and giggled again. I don't really care, it's fun. She said and took a few steps back and shook her black and white coat out, trying not to make any droplets land on him. When she finished, she went back to the creek and lapped up some water before going back over to her Doberman friend. She let her tongue roll out of her mouth again as she panted with the heat. Having a black coat wasn't helping her any.
She yawned and lay down ever-so-gracefully. She placed her black and white head on her paws and looked around, before her hazel eyes rested on Outlaw once more.

Outlaw chuckled as he watched Bella. She seemed a lot happier now than she had been a few minutes ago. Perhaps he had convinced her to play like a pup herself. He had to admit it was quite fun. When Bella came back her hazel eyes met his. He'd just noticed that they had the same eye color. Not very odd. A smile crossed his maw as he began speaking. I never really got to act like a pup when I was young. It was true, he hadn't. He yawned, showing his long, sharp fangs. Outlaw was now very cool. Having a solid black coat was hard but the water had cooled him. Outlaw often found small creeks or puddles to roll in. He had to for they cooled him off. If not he would overheat. Bella was quite nice now. She seemed to be happier since they had gotten more acquainted. She'd seemed somewhat depressed when he met her. Maybe she was just shy around new dogs. Outlaw wasn't shy. He was more bold than most dogs he met, sometimes. Yet again, Outlaw just stared and waited for Bella to react.

Well, don't feel too alone. I was more focused on survival than playing. Bella tilted her head and she yawned yet again. She felt a lot better. Outlaw had helped to get her out of her "depression" just by being here and talking to him. She couldn't help but let her eyes wander up to the sky just to see how late it had gotten. Not too bad. It was still very bright out, but the Border Collie also felt a slight decline in temperature, and it wasn't just because she had been splashing around like a young puppy.
Feeling content with the time, Bella's eyes went back to Outlaw's and for a second their eyes met. Hm. They had the same color. That was cool; but most dogs had that color. She swished her tail again and mentally told herself to stop. She didn't like swishing it so much. She knew she was being paranoid, but that didnt' really bother Bella. She had always been that way. She yawned again, finished with a quick lick of the chops and she rested her head on her white paws once more, watching Outlaw and waiting for him to do or say something.
