One could say for a male with little to no status to speak of, Jude held himself far too elegantly; far too regal for such the lowly title of stray. You might also call the brute on the hefty way in which he shrugged his muscular, ivory sheathed shoulders, the way skull tossed to the side in a fashion that was sheer arrogance at it's best. When looked at closely, dissected completely, Jude was really no one of importance - did not guide a pack, nor even come in second in command to one. Had not ever claimed a territory, or lived in a social atmosphere that had gained him respect of others. But it was all in the way he held himself, all in the chilly, selfish gleam of impossibly golden eyes that made most believe he really was somebody.
Striding along the beautiful, sifting topaz grains of the beach, he did appear quite the fairy tale prince. Sinewy, lean muscles carved in a deadly fashion that only hinted at their true power rolling in smooth, firm rotations. They were slim, stretched taut beneath the shaggy coat, not overly bulked in the manner of a larger breed. No, he was a herder, a runner, built for speed and winding agility. No where near a fighting dog such as a pit or doberman, though he could hold his own in battle quite nicely. Often, he fancied that in another life form, he may have been given the ultimiate, terrifying strength of a Rottweiler. But alas, he was born a Swiss Shepherd, and made due with the lengthy, tight muscles and slender frame.
Cloaked in pure, untainted white, coat held a definite gleam of satisfaction, making it clear that never had it's silky, ivorn hairs been neglected from a cleansing. Perhaps involved in the cases of looks - both in others and himself - it could be said that Jude was a little.. vain. Okay, not a little; a lot. But it was your looks that gained you attention, was often your appearance that granted you keys to doors that would remain tightly locked for those who were not aesthetically pleasing. So what if he may use those large, soulful topaz eyes and shining pallid coat to gain what he wanted? Any other would do the same. Call it shallow, he merely called it life; pitying those who did have possess features that demanded a double take and appreciative smile.
But as the famous saying may go, you could not judge a book by its cover. Though Jude's features were open, friendly, and gaze was a lovely butterscotch hue that suggested warmth, inwardly he was quite the opposite. Selfish to the greatest degree, with a mood that shifted just as easily as the breezes; happy to snarlingly rude within seconds. Mind swarmed around ideas solely of himself, did not think of others and not caring much to, using them as he pleased and eventually disgarding them in a manner that suggested they were no more valuable than garbage. Pretty is as pretty does, and many eyes have been opened to just how ugly Jude's personality is, therefore marring his features. Their loss, he always saw it as.
Large paws created numerous indentions upon the damp, chilly sands, claws digging into the tightly packed beads, leaving strangely intricately delicate patterns within their wake. Shoulderblades rolled, held tightly in place as skull remained level between them, carrying the lanky, loping gait that was most often found in coyote; a skulking manner that could be mistaken as sinister, though it was simply Jude's way of moving. It spoke volumes about his nature, for it screamed of trickery, self satisfaction and a sneakiness that were true traits of personality.
Boredom was evident within elongated features, ocher gaze scorching with a boredom that suggested the world should pause it's rotation and move to entertain him. Slender jowls dropped into a yawn, pale pink tongue curling into an arch at the tip before being snapped back into the fang layered lair. Shifting away the crashing shores, not enjoying the unpleasant frozen wetness of ocean water to his pads, movements carried the brute farther up the stretch of land, pausing near a wave pool and staring into its immeasurable depths. Flickering back at him was the familiar reflection of wideset, topaz hued visions, same long, slim snout and triangular peaks. Feeling a flicker of satisfaction that he remained untouched by the cruel clutches of age, skull tilted towards the side, still examining features, obviously pleased.
Yes, this was a passtime he could fully enjoy.

Maddie's paws bounced as she made her way along Contempt Beach. Twin erect malarkies were raised on either side of her skull, acoustics cupping the soft roaring of the ocean, and the waves gently lapping against the shoreline. Brown oculars were scanning around, enjoying the beauty of this place. While the beauty was there, there was also danger. The beach gave off a two faced appearance. There were patches of grass that were toxic if ingested. There was a small watering hole not too far, but the water was alright to drink. Blades and pelvis rolled easily as the blue merle collie easily loped along, paws squelching into the sand leaving perfect impressions behind. Her tail was held up high slightly, waving in the air behind her as she moved. Lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue lolling out and resting over her bottom two canines, as she panted ever so slightly. The sun was hot, but the sky was its typical battleship grey. Fluffy white clouds drifted lazily across. A few birds had taken flight, their bodies contrasted nicely against it.
Maddie glanced to her right where a small wooded area was. She could see through the dense forest. There wasn't too much activity in there, which she thought was strange. She could hear a few crows squawking in there, and a few seagulls above her head. She raised her orbs and glanced at the gulls flapping over their heads. Maddie briefly balked, but she kept on moving. The ocean was a beautiful sapphire blue color. Foamy white waves crashed against the shoreline, before being pulled back out. In the distance, off to the left in the horizon, she could make out a cargo ship still sitting on the water. She stopped and stared at it for a moment, wonder what the lives of the crew were liked before the bomb hit and even after it hit. She closed her jaws now, watching the ship bob in the waves. The men were probably so scared when the bomb hit, but they wouldn't know what hit them really. Even if the humans had survived, the fallout was there for 3 years or so.
Maddie had no idea how the canines managed to survive, but they did. It was a mystery really...but Maddie learned not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Her beautiful coat was getting rather grainy from teh sand and salt air, but she didn't mind one bit. She trotted, legs gracefully moving to the ancient rhythm. Her tail waved in teh air behind her as she kept close to the crashing waves, enjoying the cold water rolling over her paws. It was better than walking on hot sand that burned her pads. She made soft splashes as she trotted, a bit of sea mist and foam spraying up onto her coat. She felt like a puppy now as she decided to take a quick swim. She crashed through the waves, letting teh water roll over her back, legs paddling in a doggy paddle as she finished romping and headed back onto solid ground. Maddie stood at the edge and spread her legs, giving her body a rigorous shake, sending droplets of water flying in all directions.
It felt good and Maddie continued on, rounding a bend in the beach. She stopped when she picked up the scent of a brute nearby. Immediately, her heart began hammering in her chest. She only prayed that it wasn't a dark dog. Or else she would be in deep trouble. Finding courage, she pressed onward. She new she had bad experiences with brutes before so she only hoped this one wasnt one to add to that 'hit' list she had mentally made up. Maddie spied him lying down and slowly approaching him, planting her rump on the ground, tail wrapping around her back legs, flicking on occasion like a cats. Forelegs came around to her chest, keeping her upper body erect. Malarkies raised and turned toward him. She cleared her throat and began speaking to him, keeping her tone and baritones friendly yet on alert.
"Hello there brute. I'm Maddie. What is your name?" Maddie asked him and shifted her weight a bit. Her eyes moved off of the brute and onto the wooded area behind them. She kept getting this omnious feeling from there, that something was watching them. She felt a shiver run down her spine that she knew didn't have anything to do with the weather out today. She ignored that feeling and returned her eyes onto the brute. Nose twitched, picking up his scent as she waited for him to speak.

This was pleasant, lulled into a sense of rarely reached peace, a state of bliss that could only be entered after an extended period of admiring himself. Gaze blinked slowly, mesmerized by the tiny lurching waves within the shallow pool, as well as the pale features that returned his measured stare- seemingly just as curious. Pleased smile was slowly working its way upon thin muzzle, audits twitching idly as tail swept across the sands in a relfex action, no longer drilled by the intense sense of boredom. Skull turned this way and that, studying himself interestedly from each angle in an arrogant fashion, the satisfaction that read across his features unmistakable. Thoughts were complacent, shallow, not worth detailing, mulling over every whisker, every sleak strand of ivory fur, every glitter of color within devestatingly gold eyes. Those eyes, perhaps the best of all the features, for their coloring were quite exquisite, full of expression that easily hid his inward smugness.
Smiling with a gentleness that didn't quite suit personality, auditory senses were dulled, as was every instinct that spoke of impending danger. So completely wrapped up within little realm of thought that the sudden waft of intriguingly delicate scent caught the brute off guard, as did the soft ring of soprano tones that whispered of feminity. They were much too close for comfort, seemingly coming right from behind him. Foolish, stupid! How could he be so terribly oblivious? As soon as the girl's notes ended, a volatile snarl errupted from vocals, a simple reaction to being startled, the low, gravelly sound seeming to have been ripped from insides. Rising with swift, aggitated motion, the brute was upon all fours, spinning about and composing features into a charming smile that easily hid the grimace which consumed them seconds before.
A deep breath was inhaled, steadying the rush of adrenaline that seared throughout veins, sealing them closed and causing heart beat to thud erratically, dangeorusly out of control within cavernous chest. Blinking, features arranged themselves into a sincere apology, though it was the complete opposite; he did not mean a word of it, but spoke it simply because it was the gentlemenly thing to do. Lucky for Maddie, he was feeling polite. Otherwise, the surprise would've been an excuse to attack then and there. "I'm sorry, that was rude of me." Smiling gently, paces were taken towards the femme, head lowered into a brief bow as he introduced himself. "A pleasure to meet you, Maddie. I am Jude."
Taking a few tentative steps foward, eyes appraised her slender figuirine, taking in the merle coat and delicate shape, the curve of her features and soft fur that lined her supple body. Brow raised, feeling a tug of interest that was strictly carnal. It had been awhile since his last conquest. And well.. it was the pretty ones that were most often dumb and would simply go along with it. Perhaps this day was not a complete loss. Grinning, he tilted his head in a fakely bewildered fashion. "Whats a pretty little thing like yourself doing out here in such bad weather?" Gaze flickered towards the steel gray sky that was the complete opposite of sunny, most likely the worst day to choose attending the beach.

Maddie watched the expression on Jude's face and immediately planted her rump on the ground again, letting her tail wrap tightly against her legs as her forlegs came around to the front of her chest as she regarded him with a rather cool expression as she responded.
"Looking for some worthy friends, if you must know. And might I add, I'm not a piece of meat, back off a bit there boy. I'm not dumb," Maddie said in a cool tone, placid and yet in a monotone. She figured he figured she was easy, which she wasn't. Maddie was completely outspoken and didn't care about what she said, as long as her point was made. Her chocolate orbs held a bit of frost in them, warning this brute that she wasn't here to be raped or anything. She gave him a light warning growl back before turning on an innocent expression.
"Oh my bad. I've had bad experiences with males before. I dont take their bullshit anymore," She spoke in a meaningful tone and then began responding to his original question.
"I enjoy coming down here to the beach. Its rather soothing to me. What about you?" She asked, keeping her bum placed on the ground. Her nose twitched, picking up the scent of the brute and the scent of the beach itself. While she would keep her guard up around this brute, she would be civil and show him that she wasn't some dumb 'blond'. She was smart and street wise and knew when a male was trying to flirt with her. Though she didnt mind, she also let him know where she stood and that she wouldn' take any of his bullshit or anything along that line.
She followed his gaze up to the battleship grey sky before lowering them onto him again adn waited for him to respond.
