Bay ran into the dump like it was heaven! He hadn't seen so much rubbish in one place. He was so hungry and this was perfect! his nose was going ahywire sniffig out so many different smells! old food. mouldy clothes and all sorts of different things. He buried his nose into a pile and gripped hi teeth onto something that smelt good. it was an old sock. It didn't taste as good as it smelt thats for sure. he dropped it. his tongue lolled out and his tail wagge din exitement. he would finally get something decent to eat he thought starting to dig up rubbish searching for something good to eat then he couldn't believe it he found a small-ish bone. mmmm bone! He pulled it out and laye don his front chewing it hungryly. it tasted so good! Old meat still on it he chewed alot of that out. He drewled in hnger chewing it savagly. he'd neevr had something this good. so far he hadn't seen any other dogs. perfect!
He carried on chewing for a while. while he chewed he was thinking about his mgnificent parents. His mother and father were both beagles. His mother was beautiful and his father was tough. he'd always been told to fight to survive and to keep what is his so thats what he does. He carrie don thinking of many times as a pup when he was being taught things. he sighed reamily and stopped chewing for a sec

CLICK FOR PICTURE ^ Maddie's paws bounced as they made their way down to the dump. Ears were lifted on either side of her head. Her chocolate eyes were locked a head of her, scanning around. She felt a chilly breeze blowing over her back, whipping patches of her merle fur in several directions. She felt a shiver running down her spine, but she ignored it and pressed onward. Her stomach gave a low grumble, signaling that she was hungry. She pressed her nose to teh ground and began snuffling around, searching to see if any other dogs had come through here lately. She picked up the scent of a brute, but she wasn't sure if he was dark or light by his scent.
Her blades and pelvis rolled easily as she moved, nails clicking lightly on the ground as her bushy tail swayed behind her from the motion of the gait. Her lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue lolling out and flapping out the corner of her mouth.
She wormed her way around the garbage can and eventually came upon the beagle. She slowly stopped, planting her haunches on the ground letting her tail wrap around her back legs, twitching on occasion like a cats. Forelegs came around to the front of her chest, keeping her upper body erect. She smiled at the brute and began talking to him softly.
"Hello. I'm Maddie. What's your name?" she asked softly and gently. Ears raised on either side of her head as she panted gently. Above her the sun dipped behind the clouds briefly engulfing them in semi darkness. She sneezed before raising her head and watching the male before her, hoping he wasn't dark. She never got along well with darks, only lights and neutrals. But by his body posture, she didn't think so.

bay had carried on chewing when he smelt another female. He wasn't bothered because he wasn't bothering anyone. He was the only dog there and was happily chewing. the dog didn't smell angry soa he wasn't too bothered. Even though with all the different smells it was difficult. His tail continued to wag against the blowing wind. One ear loped onto his head showing the inside of his ear. the other ear blowing calmly in the wind. it didn't seem too affect his hearing at all.
Bay's tongue lolle dout of his mouth drooling slightly. He was thirsty know but he egnroed it. he looked at this pretty looking female. she was also bigger then him but that never bothered him nearly all dgs were bigger then him. He smield at the female "hi i'm bay" he barked sitting up being a bit more slouched then her and scratching his ear. closing his eyes and his tongue lolling out the corner of his mouth in enjoyment. He finished scratching looking at her. "are u hungry the bones still got soe meat on it" he said being friendly

Maddie smiled and nodded pulling herself up onto all fours again and gently walking past Bay as she turned around, letting her belly press against teh ground. She reached for one of the bones with her teeth and dragged it to the front of her , letting it rest between her forepaws. She hungrily began gnawing on it, tilting her head to the side, the back incisiors getting to work. All that could be heard was the slight grinding noise against the bones. Maddie's tail thumped from side to side behind her sweeping across teh ground. She regarded Bay as she gnawed.
"So Bay, what brings you out here?" she asked him softly as she continued to chew on the remains.
Her stomach was beginning to get full now. She was glad she'd bumped into him because sometimes males never shared their food. Some were rather selfish and conceited, thinking that she would fall in love with them because they were oh so handsome and whatnot. It was nice to just talk to a male and not have him be all schmoozing. Ears were raised on either side of her head, waiting to hear from Bay.
Though he was smaller than her, but that never really bothered Maddie. Size wasn't a bother, it was mainly personality that was most important. Her warm chocolate orbs were locked on the beagle. She continued to gnaw on it, but was keeping her ears opened for him. She licked her forepaw before turning back to the bone. Above the sky now darkened slightly, the battleship grey color changing to an almost blackish grey. Dark storm clouds began rolling in. In the distance, she could hear the thunder rumbling but knew that the storm was still a bit far from where they were so they were safe for a while. The temperature definitely dropped now, but Maddie was used to it as she patiently waited for Bay to talk again.

Bay smiled as the female took his offer. At least this dog wasn't trying to kill him like so many other dogs. He watched her eat hungrily at the bone. Many dogs said he was too nice. and he was. Giving away your meal to another dog maybe it was crrazy but bay didn't mind. he didn't need much to keep his small muscles going. There was a weird silence for a while until she spoke to me.
To be honest he didn't know what he was doing there. Bay thought for a seocnd on how to answer "well really i'm just passing through looking for a place to stay..." he said shrugging. He really wanted a friend or a family. He hated being alone though he'd been alone for so long. "i've been traveling alone for a long while..." he said sighing. He chirped up a bit as his nose caught wiff of oth stuff and started delving into heaps of trash searching "so what's a dog like you doing here?" he asked. mateing wasn't even on his mind yet. \he never saw females like that. just like females neevr saw him like that.
He pulle dhis nose out of the garbage a tin stuck on his nose he shook his nose and it went flying across the garbage sending old patsa sauce everywhere. I covered bays face adn made a loud crunch sound as it hit the bottom of the trash heap. he laughed and tried to lick the pasta sauce of his face like a little puppy would. he always liked to have fun anyway possible

Maddie had to laugh at the pasta sauce on Bay's face. It looked so comical. Maddie had her fill and pulled herself up onto all fours. She lowered the front half of her body in a 'bow' and then stretched one hind leg out a time, enjoying the feeling that her muscles made. When she was all set, Maddie turned and stepped toward Bay, as she began helping him clean off the pasta sauce.
"It got onto areas that I doubt you'd be able to reach," Maddie chuckled heartily as she stopped and found a large cardboard box. She hunkered down and loped into it, laying down on her belly. Her fore legs stuck out of the box and she lowered her head, letting it rest over her forepaw. She watched Bay with her warm brown eyes and heard him ask what a dog like her was doing here.
"Same thing I guess. Looking for a companion and a place to stay," she said sighing a bit. A faint whine escaped her maw as she felt a brief pang of sadness. There was plenty of room in the box for Bay if he wanted to come in and join her. Outside the temperature was rather cold, but inside the box it was much warmer. Ears perked on either side of her head as she looked at him. For a small dog, Maddie thought he was a handsome dog. But to her, size never mattered much. It was the personality that was the main thing. There could be the largest of dogs, the macho type, and their personaltiy would be as vicious as a snake bite. She learned not to rely on appearance but overall personality. She felt a faint smile forming on her maw as she waited for Bay to respond.

bay wasn't embarrased he never was. He found it fun. When she was cleaning him he wagged his tail happily. He'd never met a female so nice. that she'd actualy clean him. He smiled at her and watched her find a box and lay down. did she sleep here he didn't think she would "hey do u sleep here?" he asked curiously not being rude he just wondered. he didn't sleep ehre... well he would tonight but he'd move on in the morning.
B ehadr ehr whine. she really wanted company didn't she. he cuoldn't stand seeing a female look so sad. maybe he could keep her company. He was lonely too. Bay shivered slightly it was starting to get colder. He scratched his ear again ahis ear kept jumping away from his paw as he scratched. Bay's tail thumped the ground in enjoyment. it felt good. He then watched her smile.
"would you like me to stay here with you tonight?" he asked being friendly mating wasn't even on his mind. She was beautiful. His tail wagged as he waited for her anwer. He didn't mind if she said no there were plenty of hiding places here. he'd seen one on the way in. But she looked more lonely then he was.

Maddie smiled and nodded that he could come and lie down next to her. It wasn't the fact that she was lonely she just missed her old life, her old ways. But that was all gone now. Nothign was going to get it back.
"No I dont really live here but since the weather is gettign much colder now, its best to find places that provide good shelter," She said blinking and lowered her head again, letting her muzzle rest between her forepaws. Her ears relaxed now and slipped back as she laid there, her tail was clamped tightly to her body, one, to give him more room and two, she could be coming into season in a few days. Not that she was worried about Baley, but there were other brutes out there that would take advantage of her and her situation. It was a vicious circle that needed to stop. But she knew it wouldn't. It would just keep going and going. Outside the wind howled a bit, and she heard a few broken window shutters banging against the sides of the old houses. It was so eerie here it wasn't funny. The island was a bit better, but not by much. The only sound that came from there was the roaring of the ocean. Still it was a noise nonetheless. Here in the city there was absolutely nothign. No cars no humans nothing. Everything just stopped. A shiver ran up her spine that had nothign to do with the weather outside. The box was large enough and had a piece of cardboard that had landed diagnolly in front, creating a shield. The box was nice and warm really. It would be perfect for two dogs to live here comfortably if that came down to it. She watched Baley with her warm brown eyes and waited.

Bay acknowledged her nod and slowley walked in. her saw her clamp her tail around her but he new why. To give him more space and she was so nice! "thank you for the nice place it was nice of you.." not many dogs are nice around here... do you know why?" he asked inquisitivly. he never understood. he was actually rather nice to everyone. He layed flat on his stomach. His tongue lolled out ralxed. His ears swinging next to his face. He closed his eyes a minute. it was so much warmer in here then out there. and sharing it with a friend was nice to. he didn't feel alone anymore

Maddie listened to Bay's question about other dogs not being so nice on the street. She sighed and yawned, her lower jaw dropping and her salmon pink tongue curling back into her maw. She snapped her jaws shut and then lowered her head back down to rest on her paws.
She thoguht for a moment and then responded.
"Mostly because most of the dogs are fighting to survive. They dont care about anyone else but themselves. Plus, it depends. Some of them might be darks or mafia, which explains a lot. Me, I'm just myself. I follow my own beliefs," Maddie said gently as she glanced at Bay and then closed her eyes for a moment.
"The mafia and the Cambridge pack pretty much rule the city err, well rather parts of it. All dogs are afraid of them, but for good reason. But its best to just keep to yourself, but with me it a different story," She said. "I'm not like them at all."
She opened her eyes again to look at Bay. She didn't understand if he had met many vicious and mean dogs while living on the street. Though the probability was high, Maddie wasn't like the others. She was herself and thats all that mattered. Nothing else did. True, she worried about surviving and living here, but that didn't mean she went and snapped off the heads of every dog that acted kindly toward her. She smiled at Bay.
"I'm gathering you met many aggressive dogs in your travels huh?" She asked him softly as she lifted both eyebrows to look at Bay.
It was mind boggling really, but Maddie new that nothing would change in the city. The island was another story , but it was a place she wasn't fond of.

bay watched her yawn and lay down. that made his jaws open in a long yawn. He slobbered his chops. he listenend to her closely about all these dogs. It never made any sence to him. "i'm not afraid of them" he said boldly. many dogs would say he was nuts and he was but that never bothered him "and ye i have met a viciouse dog down bxy the really big birds with big wings... this dog called i thought she said her name was cyanide or something" he said it like it ment nothing.. the name to him ment little. he just knew he didn't like that dog. he lowered his haed and closed his eyes a minute. letting the warmth make him feel safe and happy. being with her did make him feel happy he opened one eye to look at her. he ears were on the floor in little crumpled up piles.

Maddie listened to Bay closely. She nodded slightly, not even lifting her head up. She yawned again and snapped her jaws shut.
"Yes I've heard of Cyanide. She's a evil girl thats for sure. It's best to stay away from that pack, and DONT go wandering onto their lands. They dont tolerate tresspassers," Maddie warned firmly. She sleepily opened one eye and looked at Bay now.
"Seriously, dont even set one paw on their turf. I've heard stories of that pack tearing dogs limb from limb," Maddie said she sniffed bit.
Bay smelled like a female dog in some spots, so that must've been Cyanide's scent. She smiled wanly.
"But I can see you've already bumped into them. Trust me dont go there again," She said with amusement.
She let her eye close again as she snoozed there, enjoying the warm feeling inside the box and the fact that Bay was lying next to her. It was such a comfortable feeling being here though. She lightly smiled to herself as she laid there. Outside the wind was howling a bit and Maddie opened oen eye again to look outside the box. In the distance, the thunder boomed again and lightning lit up the sky. Shortly, she could hear the soft pattering of rain hitting the ground. Luckily, the box was in a place where the rain couldn't get it, otherwise it would end up being soggy. And it would end up caving in on them. Which was not the most wonderfulest thing in the world. She stretched one hind leg out as she was getting a bit stiff before pulling the leg back against her body. She groomed her foreleg for a bit before returning her head onto her leg, ears lifted waiting for Bay to respond again.

Bay "thats what cyanide said that she would rip me apart but i just snapped back and got out of there in one piece.. whats her problem anyway i never did anything to her... i didn't even know that pack existed.. she was trying to make me join... ye right! i would never join a pack like that.. i have and always will be a loner... wandering never staying in one place... there too much to see to settle down... and maybe i need to. Since i seem to keep running into trouble maybe i should keep moving." he sighed his tail slowed the wagging and he looked outside sitting his head staring at he rain. he was thinking of his parents again. "why don't you join a pack i'm sure its easy for you... your big and strong.. and pretty" he added smiling at her

Maddie smiled at Bay and thought for a moment.
"I dont really know if I want a pack. I mean maybe, it would be a good place to meet someone as I eventually would like a family, but I dunno yet," Maddie mused thoughtfully. She looked at Bay.
"That's just how the darks are Bay. They are that way no matter what. Regardless if you did or didn't do anything to Cyanide, thats how she behaves anyway," Maddie said softly opening one eye sleepily. "Not that I'm excusing her behavior, but I'm trying to get you to understand her ways and teh ways of darks."
Maddie yawned again, letting her salmon pink tongue curl back into her maw and then let her jaws snap again. She lowered her head between her front paws and closed her eyes again. She fell silent, listening to the gentle drumming of the rain on teh ground. It sounded rather soothing to her in a strange way. She opened both chocolate orbs and watched the water falling in droplets. She heard Bay's last comment about her being pretty. Maddie smiled and blushed a bit before turning to him.
"What about you? Surely you'd want a family at some point?" she inquired curiously.
She didn't know if this would annoy him asking about hsi personal areas. If he didn't mind her asking about it that was fine. She watched him and moved her head onto her right foreleg watching him. Her nose twitched every once and a while. The air smelled sweet from the rain and she inhaled deeply.
She loved thunder storms and the smell after it rained. She didn't know why but she just did. She waited.

bay listneend to her and tried to understand but he jsut couldn't "i get what your saying but... i think there soething more under cyanide... i bet she's not really like that.. its probably jsut an act..." he said yawning he listened to her question he didn't mind it at all. "i dunno... a family reminds be too much of my parents.." he said sighing "i ran away as a pup follishly... my parents told me not to run off so far but i didn't listen i wanted to see what was out there... i ran back and found them gone..." he sighed putting his head back between his paws... i lost them and another dog.. i dunno if i could have another family..." he saidd his tail had sotpped wagging and he stared at the rain sighing. He often stare dinto the blank wishing he could go abck in time and sto himself. but he couldn't.
