Bolero was just wandering around the city when he accidently wandered onto pack land. He smelled the scents of other dogs, and found out that there was a clear leader in this territory. Hunting hadn't been going well for him though, and he could clearly smell donuts. It smelled sweet and delicious. He was hungry.
Then he found the building where the scent was coming from. He raised his head and smelled the air. It was coffee and donuts. Of course he had never eaten a donut before, nor had he ever smelled one 'til now. Still his mouth started to water, and his stomach started to growl.
He cautiously entered the shop. Right now it was dark and empty. No one was around. He didn't want to take anything that wasn't his. Bolero hated confrontation and fighting. Hopefully he could be accepted here, but for right now his hunger was driving him.
Being a great dane made Bolero have quite an appetite. He searched around the store, still following his nose, and he didn't find a single donut. It had been a long time since any bread products had been produced here, still he had hoped.
Bolero sat down to think about the next thing to do. He was tired of being alone. Since he was still young, he really wanted to be taught by someone more experienced than him. He just wanted a pack, some food, and a nice place to sleep. A feeling of security was what he was looking for, well that and a friend. Maybe today would be the day that he would find a pack and some friends! Just maybe. For now though, he just sat down to think and to feel past his first instincts.
