Serena padded through the woods, looking for something to do. She had nothing better to do. She paused when she reached Sinister Woods, a little unsure of whether to go in or not. She had heard stories from others...
Too bad, the German Shepherd was curious and bored. She let her nose sink to the ground and she followed the trail of a squirrel until it disappeared in a tree. She frowned and shook her head, dismissing the issue. She looked at her surroundings and shuddered a bit. It was very dark, no sunlight anywhere. Intimidating trees loomed over her, threatening to suffocate her. Suddenly, Serena felt a little claustrophobic.
She shook her head yet again to try and rid herself of that feeling. But it would leave. She started walking further into the woods, not really watching where she was going. She tripped once on a rather large stick that she would have considered playing with, and discovered the stories about scattered animal bones to be true.
Yes, the fearless German Shepherd was a little frightened. She reached a small patch of meadow, still dark as night, and stopped. It wasn't so close here. She walked right the middle of the circular area and sat down, panting a bit. It was rather warm, as she found out. She was about to lay down when a flash of white caught her eye. She looked closer and discovered a bone. With a cringe, she flung it away from her with a flick of her paw.
Serena finally calmed down enough to look at her surroundings. It reeked of mold and she could faintly smell bone. She tried not to think about it as she lowered herself into the grass.

Black Fire padded through the dark woods when he noticed a germen shepherd. The little Scottish terrier sat down and watched her for a second then he barked "Hello lassie." Then he added "Sorry if ye don't understand ma accent." He sat down and looked at the femme hoping his scottish accent was understandable to her. Black Fire's tail brushed over the ground happily as he watched her. He was happy to have company even if she was a lot bigger than him.

Serena's head shot up when she heard another voice. But it wasn't from around here, that was for sure. She sat up and her chocolate eyes rested on a small Scottish Terrier. She smiled and shook her head. Hello. I can understand you just fine. She said with a laugh.
Serena stood and took a few steps towards the Terrier. My name is Serena. She told him, hoping to get his name in return. The Shepherd always had trouble asking others these things. It didn't make much sense, but it was what it was.
When she was a few feet from him, she sank onto her haunches and cocked her head. She had never come across this particular breed of terrier and she was a little intrigued. But what she couldn't quite understand was why this woods didn't intimidate him like it did her. Oh well. Her large bush of a tail flicked over the ground in a wag.
It's Scottish right? You're accent? She asked out of the blue. She knew it was, but she needed to say something. She wasn't one to let a silence carry for more than two seconds.

Serena smiled when Black Fire confirmed her wondering about his accent. She cocked her head again at his question as to why she was out here. The truth? Most likely. She shrugged, her tail pausing in mid-swish.
Eh. Just walking around. The woods seemed like a fun place to come, but actually, I don't like it so much. There she went, babbling like an idiot again. The one thing she didn't like about herself.

Black Fire looked at her and said "Don't worry aboot it lassie I'm here now ah{i} may be small but ah am also tough." He looked at her Black Fire would protect her. He stood up and padded closer to her he wondered why this germen shepherd was talking to him. Most dogs bigger than him ignored him. He was happy to not be ignored for once because he didn't meet many dogs his size.

Serena was about to laugh, but she realized Black Fire was serious. She considered it, and it didn't seem that impossible. Besides, he seemed like the kind of dog you didn't want to mess with. She smiled and nodded.
Thank you. She barked. She found it funny that he hadn't asked her why she was talking to him. The other smaller dogs she had met in her past had always asked her that one.

Black Fire looked at her and said "Would ye like me tae leave?" He thought he might be bugging her. Then the question came into his mind again "Why was she talking to him?" So he asked "Why are ye talking tae me? Dogs like ye usually ignore me." He waited for her answer tilting his head to one side.

Serena shook her head vigorously No, I don't want that at all. She barked, a little disheartened that he would think he was bothering her. His next question threw her though, she wasn't sure on how to answer that one.
Because... well, I don't know. I was never one to be funny about who I talk to. She said, trying to get her thoughts into words.

Black Fire looked at her and just said "Well thank ye fer talking tae me lassie. I appreciate yer kindness" He wagged his tail happily knowing that she wanted to talk to him. He sat there and looked up at her his happiness gleaming in his black eyes.

Serena smiled with a nod. She didn't exactly know what to say. I mean, how often did someone compliment her on her kindness? Never. She's talked to others, but not that many. So, instead of saying anything, she wagged her tail.
