Flamingstar layed out on the beach staring out into the ocean his head over his paws. He was hoping no one would disturb him all he wanted was to be left alone. Then he remembered his brother Eclipse Flamingstar wondered if he was still alive he had been searching for his brother but had no luck. He felt sorrow not knowing where his brother was. He didn't like feeling sad your tougher than this he thought to himself. He was too proud to admit that he was sad. In a way he felt lonely but he didn't want to admit it he never let his true feelings show. All anyone ever sees of me is how i am on the outside. In a way he wished he could show his true feelings.. toward someone anyone. I need a mate he thought. He just layed there wandering his mind almost expecting someone to show up any minute.

Asphalt trotted on the beach's warm sand. It felt good as it warmed her pads without burnin them off. She smiled contently. It was a wonderful day today, at least she thought. She didn't really feel like socializing much today. Then again, when did she?
Asphalt looked around cuiously for a moment. It had been a while since she had been to the beach. She stopped for a moment and turned her head towards the cystal clear blue water. It was beautiful. Wait.. she was actually enjoying it. That was rare for her.
The beach was one of Asphalt's favorite places because, no matter how beautiful it was, not many dogs came here. It was slightly surprising, but relieving at the same time.
Ashalt halted as she caught then scent of another dog, She lifted her eyes to see a husky laying on the sand, gazing at the ocean. She ndecided not to get any closer than she already was. Approximately 10n feet away. She didn;t really want to get in their way... or socialize. At least not at the moment. She would just wait until they noticed she was there.

Flamingstar scented another dog.. a female oh great there goes my peace and quiet he thought as he got up and turned around to face the dog. He just looked at her waiting for her to say something. He guessed the dog did not feel like talking neither did he.. He just stared at the female as if saying what do you want..... He thought he should announce his name so he said in a bored tone "Hi im Flamingstar you are?" He then sat down and sort of wagged his tail he didn't know why he felt so happy all of a sudden. Then he thought to himself admit it your lonely..... Flame was not one to show his feelings to anyone he liked to keep to himself but suddenly he felt like telling everything to this strange dog. The feelings he kept deep down inside started coming out but he pushed them away and waited for the female to reply.

Asphalt's ears perked up as she heard the male announce his name. She turned her head and looked at him for a moment. She hadn't noticed his fur looked almost... red. It was strange. She had never seen fur like that before.
Ashalt glanced away for a moment. He had said his name quickly. She usually liked to beat around the bsh, but oh well. If she had wanted to do that she should have spoken first. "I'm Asphalt," she said, turning back to him. Her voice was soft and a little gentle, but had an edge of darkness to it, in a way.
She wondered how he would react to her name. She had known some dogs to make fun of it... those weren't able to see the next day. Or at least view it very clearly. But if they didn't mind, then she wouldn't mind them that much.
She noticed his tail began to wag, but decided to pretend she hadn't seen it. She guessed, easily, that he had been lonely. Now that the thought crossed her mind, she had been lonely too. It seemed like she hadn't seen another dog in quiet a while. Probably a month. At least one that she wanted to socialize with

Flamingstar just sat there and looked at her then remembered his wagging tail and hoped she hadn't noticed as he stopped wagging it. He said "Its nice to meet you.." He was hoping she didn't notice the happiness in his voice as he looked back out at the water. He didn't want to look at her because he didn't want to admit how lonely he had been. He sensed that she thought he would make fun of her name but he said nothing. He liked her name then he wondered how she got it. Flame got his because of his fur which he could tell Asphalt thought was strange but it didn't bother him. Then he turned back to her and waited for her to say something.

Asphalt nodded at the dog across from her. "It's nice to meet you too," she said. The tiniest smile crossed her maw, just wanting to be polite. but it vanished in almost two seconds. Being this friendly was slightly awkward to her. The only time she was completely friendly was toward pups. She had a soft spot for them.
Asphalt hadn't noticed that his tail stopped wagging. She was paying attention to him, however, and caught the hint of happiness behind his words as he had said "nice to meet you". She brushed it off though. The big thing to her was the fact he hadn't made fun of her name.
She could have smiled proudly for that. She was so used to her name bieng made fun of that she had actually fought dogs over it. She had gotten her name from her silver fur. On the day she was found, she blended in so well with the sidewalk that it was hard to believe. If it weren't for the brown and white in her fur, she probably would have been dead. But thanks to a dogs good eyes, she was still there.

Flame stared at her he wasn't usually this nice to anyone the only soft spot he had was for his mate yet, it was nice to have company every once in a great while. Flame just looked at her not really having anything else to say. He yawned a bit as he sat there he was aware that he was growing hungry. Flame sniffed the air to see if he could scent food but he stayed where he was. Then he said to her "I like your name..." and smiled a bit. Flame then noticed the scar on his leg was bleeding he remembered being beaten by his parents they gave me that scar he thought with anger. He pushed away his bad memories as he focused on Asphalt again waiting for her to speak. Then he looked at his leg again and started to lick the blood away as he laid down and more blood gushed out. He forgot about his leg and focused on Asphalt once more as he waited patiently for her to speak.

Asphalt was surprised as he said he liked her name. At first she thought he was being sarcastic, but she realized after a few moments that he had actually meant it. She smiled at the comment and lightened up slightly. She was less uptight and serious now, and a bit more friendly. She was glad someone finally liked her name. "Thank you very much," she said, nodding her head as a thank you gesture.
"But if you ask me..." she said, smiling a little more. "You're the one with the good name," she said. She did like his name, Flamingstar. It fit him perfectly. His fur could have been a replica of fire.
She lay down now, more at ease with this dog, who seemed to no longer be what she would call a stranger. She decided she liked the company, and the fact that it was on a beach eased her a little too. The sound of crashing waves always soothed her. Strange, but it worked, oddly enough. Oh yes, that's what she was, a little odd ball... well, without the little at least.
Most of the things she did or liked would be strange to other dogs. She liked transferring herself from hot to cold waters, for some reason. She never knew why, and hadnt done it enough times to find out. Several dogs just disliked her because of her dramatic mood swings. Something could calm her or make her snap within seconds. Sometimes it wouldn't even be the other dogs fault. Buyt that was Asphalt. A moody dog who liked the ocean...

"Thank you i like my name too" he said laughing a little. His name always reminded him of fire.... he loved fire. Flame laid down where he was and yawned looking at Asphalt and waiting for her to say something else. Flame was enjoying the day it was kind of nice having a bit of company. He was glad she felt more at ease around him now. His coat was like fire with the sun shining down on it he hated the light but his fur looked good in it. He rolled over on his side and closed his eyes but kept his ears alert showing that he was awake and waited for her to speak.

Asphalt nodded. It's a good name to be proud of, she said with another small smile. She watched as he lay down and closed his eyes, but noticed that he was still listening. But she stayed silent for a few more moments. Just to hear the waves crash against the shore and the rocks over near the ridge. Asphalt inwardly sighed. She absolutely loved this beach.
Asphalt shifted so her front paws were tucked under her chest. It was a more comfortable position like this. She yawned, for yawns were contaigious. So, how did you earn your name? she asked curiously.
She knew how she had gotten her name. It was when Mimi, her adoptive mother, found her on the street. She had blended in with the ground so well that only the brown splotches on her fur could save her. Asphalt smiled at the memory of Mimi. She always did whenevershe thought of that pretty Doberman who stopped just to save a little runt on the edge of the sidewalk.
Asphalt was just surprised that Mimi's heart of gold didn't rub off on her. She was so cold, and harsh. Well most of the time. Ynlike right now. It was hard to believe this was Asphalt. The real Asphaly probably would have been snappy and moody... or would she have? Okay, maybe Mimi's positive attitude rubbed off on her a little. But not enough as to where she was stopping on the streets and helping out every sick and injured dog she saw. No way. That would be scary.

Flame opened his eyes and looked at her and said "My name? I got my name for my red coat." He looked at her and thought to himself about his parents. His parents never named him....he named himself. He was glad his parents didn't name him he hated his parents. He pushed away all memories of his past he hated his past. Then he looked out at the water and listened to the waves and it calmed him again. Everytime he thought of his past he felt hate but the ocean always calmed him. Then he focused his attention back on her and patiently waited too wary to think of anything else to say and he let his head rest back on the ground. Flame felt the sun shine down on his fur it was a nice day to be at the beach. He kept his ears perked and alert up waiting for Asphalt to speak.

Willow scented the other two dogs from her place under the roots of an anchint oak. Two other dogs... she thought. Would they be kind? Rip her to shreads? Take her pups? Her pups were safe back in the nest but her toughst streayed to them ever second of the day. She had come to Contempt Beach in search of relaxation on her scavaging route but thoughs of her pups were paulging her every time she saw food. Was Half Mpon running off? Was Juniper trying to keep everyone in line? Was Cloe playing with sharp objescts? Was Ivy stalking grasshoppers in the long grass like her mother alwyas told her not ot, beacuse snakes might be lurking there? How wer they? Were they hungry? Had some huge dog come and killed them all? Willow shook her head, trying to rid herslef of the pups. She needed ome time to just be away from them for a while. She looked at the two other dogs again. One with a redish coat, and one was obscured by the bush blocking Willow's veiw. She shook her own dappled caot. She took a deep breath and steped out of the bush. Nodding to the wo other dogs. "I'm Willow." She said bravly, even though inside she was shaking.
