.:Hunter:. The dark teatre was silent as hunter stired awake. He lifted his head and yawned letting out a soft whine as he did so. He lay across the old dusty seats lazy to get up. He lay his head back down on his paws staring at a spider on the floor scurrying between the fluff of the dust bunnies. There was only one way of knowing wether the sun was shining outside. It was to walk to the swing door and push it open with your snout. Hunter had no intrest in the sun today. He knew soon his stomach would grumble and he'd have to get up and go hunt for his breakfast. He would have to actually wait for that moment though. Unless... Hunter lifted his head his ears perking up when he heard something outside the door. Someone had wandered into the theatre. He frowned then finally moved off his seat and walked briskly to the door. He stood at the gap for a moment tilting his head to the side and frowning deeply as he listened. He pressed his nuzzle into the gap sniffing eagerly to catch the scent of the stranger. Then he lifted his huge paw and pushed at the door squeezing his nose in between and pushing the door open. He stood inbetween the door his body keeping it ajar. Hunters brown intelligent eyes scanned the area seeking anything out of place. "Whose there?"He said in his soft deep calm voice then waited... If the creature that came in was brave it would show itself. Besides even though he was a wonderer he had chosen to make this his home. He would defend it if he had to...Not this early though... Please not this early. Looking now he could see that outside the dawn was just about breaking making the sky a soft hue. It was the wanderings of a traveller now permitted to stay. He had wandered from his home, taken, tested, enhanced. Now he had a place. A large area of the town belonged to him. His pack, his home. He protected from whatever, he brought his subjects up to speed, up to size. Yet, still he had no second in command. He needed two at least. Those to watch over the other buildings in the area. He might be the leader, but being more than one place at once was beyond even his powers. The early morning sun was speckled on the back of the traveller as he made his way down an abandoned street. The smell of vermin and discarded litter filled the ally-way, yet Artemis ignored this.
His large, bushy tail flicked from side to side as he walked, head held up in his proud posture. Yes, Artemis was a proud animal, sleek and silent. Each paw padding along the ground of concrete, deep, dark eyes keeping a look out. With a slight shake of his black head, Artemis turned a corner, the white tip of his tail vanishing around the corner. He had been around most of the city, and yet this place was unfamiliar to him. He nosed the glass door open, pushing it back with his side as he slid through. Dark eyes looked around the equally dark interior. The sun's rays hadn't penetrated this building yet. With equal, calculated steps, Artemis made his way along the velvet carpeted corridor.
"Whose there?"
Artemis turned at the voice. He'd been aware of another dog's prescence, mostly from the smell. He stopped where he had been walking, turning on his hind legs and immediately folding his legs behind him. It made it easier to turn. His light paws padded back the way he'd come, looking over at the other male dog. His haunches backed up into a sitting position, spine straightened as he sat back. A proud, regal position, head watching the other dog with mild interest. "That depends on who asks." He replied, his emotionless voice carrying through the empty corridors.

Male and only nearly his size in height. He wasn't looking for trouble or anything in sizing the dog up. He just wanted to protect his home. Hunters frown never faultered as he slipped out the door. The Giant moved majestically to block the strangers path sitting down too. He toke his time in responding making sure all his muscles relaxed in an easy posture. His eyes drifted along the regal looking dog and then tilted his head to the side his ears twitching slightly.
"I believe I asked the question first, Regal." He kept his voice calm and level so as not to alarm the dog. His mouth opened and he started to pant contented that there was no growling... atleast not yet. He must admit if asked that he was not fond of males and found most of them to be incredibly agressive especially in the search for food. "And since you wandered into my home I do ask for a response if you would be ever so kind?"
He wondered silently if this Regal would be insistant on taking the upperhand in this meeting. He certainly hoped not. It would be dreadfully rude. He finally closed his mouth and licked his lips before he slowly in a freindly manner went to lay down. An act to show that he was not being rude. He was merely being his determined little self.

"I believe I asked the question first, Regal."
Regal. He could live with that. He didn't give out his name to just anyone. He hardly gave out his name at all, he lived by nicknames alone. So, Regal was one of the better ones. "Actually I believe you asked something different, my reply was not a question but a statement. One that didn't need an answer." He replied, sarcasm dripping from his calm voice. He unfurled his tail from where it had been curled and swept it across the floor, moving the dust out of the way in a cloud. It settled behind him in silence. He thumped his tail against the ground, dislodging the dust that had managed to accumulate on it. It was knocked off and he quickly curled his fluffy tail back around his paws to stop this happening again.
"And since you wandered into my home I do ask for a response if you would be ever so kind?"
He watched the dog infront of him, eyes shining in the pale light that was creeping through the glass doors. "You claim to own this new found terrain, do you not?" He asked calmly, moving his head to look up and down the red veleveted corridors. His own terrains spanned slightly more than just this building. But, he wasn't one to boast. He stayed mostly in the first three buildings, and occasionally made it back to the Mansion. He prefered to stay nearer the bus and the Plant. Both were easier to hold meetings in, and the Mansion was only useful for sleeping quarters and the occasional large meal if a hunter managed to bring in a catch.

Hunter got a bitter taste in his mouth from the sarcastic words this other dog threw at him. God damn it. Did this dog have the sun shining out his butt or what cause he couldn't see nothing at all. He watched as dogs tail uncurled and sent up flurries of dust. His eyes watched the dust move like a angry cloud move towards him. He felt a few dust particals crawl up his nose then sneezed shaking his powerfull body as he did so. It had always been the problem with this place. Sure it was comfortable and cool and dark and safe but it was dusty God!
He licked at his lips as Regal asked him if he claimed this place as his own. His own chocolate eyes scanned from floor to ceiling and he perked his lips another frown between his eyes. He shoke his head as his eyes settled on Regal again. "Its a free country. I call this home but its not mine. It belongs to no one. I just think that its bad manners to walk ino someone's home and not introduce yourself properly. What are you looking for anyway, Regal? There's no food here... You'd have to search elsewhere for that. I can take you to the forrest since I need to hunt now too."
Even talking about food made the Lion dog hungry. He wanted food now. He knew the resturant was out of the question especially with this dog wondering along his street. He got to his feet making sure not to make any sudden moves that might offend Regal. He was again pleasently surprised at the diffrence in height. He was safe. He was strong. Thanks to his breeding.

Artemis stretched out, lying down full length across the carpet. Yes, this dog may be larger than him, but that brought a downside. Being slighter and longer made you faster. He might not be longer, but he sure was slighter. Under the fur he was skin and muscle, down to the bone. He could elongate a stride to last two of a normal collies, due to his cros breeding with a Setter. The long easy lope of the setter could make him hard to catch around corners of bend in which he had the advantage. Also, he knew the city well and could easily lead the dog, if a chase insued, into his own terratory.

Artemis watched him impassively from where he lay on the floor, tail passed over his hind paws. "But, you just admitted this is not your land, therefore I am not walking into your home. But in any case, this is not why I came. And, thank-you, I am not in need of a hunt." He replied politely. "I came to enquire as to whether you were in need of a pack." He said smoothly, each word coming out lightly and gently as a desert breeze. He watched the large dog with mild interest, one ear moved backwards to hear behind him, one forward, studying the male hound.

Hunter dropped his head as he listened panting slightly as the dog spoke him into a riddle with his own words. He was not gonna argue wether this was his home or not especially to a stranger he knew not the name of yet. His head yerked up when Regal mentioned the real reason he had come. Hunters mouth dropped open and he shoke his head slightly. "Wait ... You mean your leader knows of my existance here or are you just recruiting any old tough looking dog?"
It was his turn to pull himself into a proud stance. " For if thats the case I am no mindless mutt. I am a pure breed hunter and I will not stand for being someone's servant. So if thats the intention Regal you can just wag your curly litte tail out into the sunshine again and let me get on with my lone existance. He gave a gruff growl towards the thought of being a mindless body guard to some stuck up mutt who told him when he was allowed to put a paw down.
Finally a smirk played across his eyes and he tilted his head again. "Besides... It all of course depends on whose asking? And this was no statement, Regal." He had been waiting for this. A chance to show Regal he can be just as quick mentally as he was. They finally matched intellect and Hunter was proud to be who he was. Hunter also possed this in the form of a means of getting a proper name out of Regal.

'Wait ... You mean your leader knows of my existance here or are you just recruiting any old tough looking dog?"
Artemis watched the large Hunting dog. The part of him that was Setter was hunting material, but the collie was more of a herding. Where the recruiting instincts came from. He crossed his forepaws elegantly, relaxing slightly. He doubted that his opposite was really in the mood to attack him. He seemed more in the mood to banter. And, anyway, Artemis did not wish for a fight, he came to ask a simple enough question, if the answer was no, it was his choice. "My, leader, as you put it, knows of most dogs existance in this city. But, you wrong me, he is not recruiting, but offering stability, 'tough' looking or not.' He replied calmly. He suspected that this was the type of dog that prefered to stay on its own unless it had a full pack of its own. He would make a good second in command, to rule over some of Taurus when Artemis could not. With five buildings to look over, Artemis could not be everywhere.
" For if thats the case I am no mindless mutt. I am a pure breed hunter and I will not stand for being someone's servant. So if thats the intention Regal you can just wag your curly litte tail out into the sunshine again and let me get on with my lone existance.
Artemis inclined his head slightly. Yes, his suspicions were corrected. "If you truely wish for me to do this, I shall. But, the leader does not take servants." He made no move to leave, simply curled his tail over his paws, sweeping the dust. He took his eyes off the Hunter, watching the dust clouds he was creating through the actions of his tail.
Besides... It all of course depends on whose asking? And this was no statement, Regal."
Artemis smiled. Rare happenings for the Taurus leader. He was definatly capable. Strong, handsome, intelligent. Yes, Artemis had taken a rare, very rare, likeness to this calm Hunter. Yes, names were power, but his own was perfectly easy to give him, especially at this point. "My name is Artemis, Hunter." He replied, turning his gaze up towards him again. "And I am not recruiting on the instructions of my leader, but of my own free will." He replied, replacing his eyecontact with the Hunter.
