Kiyax caught his scent easily, so he was following her! She heard his footsteps and the crunching of twigs as he padded after her. The she-dogs ears swept back in interest as she listened, every once and a while the sound stopped and she figured he was following her scent. Although she didn't bother to stop, Kiyax kept looking out of the corner of her eyes, watching carefully. Suddenly the sounds subsided and all that could be heard was her own breathing. Halting, the dark raised her maw and let his scent drift over her, he was near, very near. She smiled and starred ahead, although she knew he was behind her. "Iron Rust..." She spoke quietly without looking at him, "you don't even know what your getting into." Kiyax finished, her voice was steady although there was a prick of sadness there as well. Sighing to herself she shook her head, "You would be better off without me to slow you down" she realized she was right, here was a dog that looked as though he would have no problem finding a mate, whilst she had always walked alone. Without looking back, Kiyax padded onward.

Iron Rust began to walk when she did. "I might not know what I'm getting into, but I do know one thing. I'm not going to be able to walk out of here alone. I'm either going to be walking out of these woods next to you, or I'm going to be stalking you the rest of my life." He ran a few bounds to reach her side. "When I first saw you I carved a place in my heart out. No one and nothing can fill it but you." He knew it was true, for he almost felt the ache in his chest where something was missing. He knew the missing peice was walking right next to him. So close, but yet so far away. His eyes took on a look of almost pleading. "I know that you wouldn't slow me down," his corners of his mouth tugged up into a small grin, "judging by how you run I would have to quicken my pace to keep up to you."

Kiyax glanced at Iron Rust, his eyes where wide and had a pleading, desperate look shining in them. The she-dog felt her heart lurch painfully as he spoke, his voice trembled but a smile edged across his features. She looked away and sighed, never slowing her steps as he feel into a quick steady rhythm beside her. For a while they walked, the sun was sinking every so slowly behind the tall dark trees spreading shadows across the forest floor. Suddenly Kiyax came to a stop, she stared ahead and shook her sharp pointed head. "I have nothing to give" she began, "you are trailing after trouble wolf dog!" The Sheba Inu glanced momentarily at the tall, long-legged male beside her. A thorn seemed to prick at her chest when she caught his eye, both gazes never wavered. Kiyax opened her maw to try and choke out words, but nothing came, silence spread quickly and she clamped her jaws shut. Her paws felt unusually cold and she took a dizzy step back wards, half stumbling over a root. Many times she had been around brutes, but never had she felt so strange, what was wrong with her!

Iron Rust looked at her seriously until she said that he was trailing trouble. "Oh, but I love trouble! With trouble there's always something new to do." The wolfdog leaned toward her and rubbed his face against hers to show Kiyax his affection. "I... love you Kiyax. If you would have me... I would like you to be my mate." His face turned away from her, waiting for her to either lash him with angry words, turn away from him in distaste, or something worse. He knew he was taking a large step with the female, but he knew that if he didn't he would never know her answer. Iron Rust's eyes focused intently on his paws as he listened to the growing silence, waiting for the answer that Kiyax would give him. He was mentally bracing himself. When the silence almost seemed to buzz in his head the wolf-dog looked up to see the expression on the femme's face. His brown eyes met her's as he waited. His heart beat faster and faster and louder and louder. Iron Rust was sure that the Shiba Inu would be able to hear it as well.

Kiyax felt the warmth of his fur against her muzzle, she breathed deeply and closed her eyes. Than he was speaking again, she was only half listening until she heard him say I would like you to be my mate! Her eyes snapped open with surprise and she gawked in disbelief, "did he just say, what I think he said?" she thought quickly playing the words over and over in her head. Once she was sure he had said it, Kiyax stared up at him with a face of confusion, but he was looking away. For a moment she was lost for words, nothing could describe her feelings and the Sheba Inu practically stumbled over in shock. She was sure that her heart had jumped to her throat, and her legs felt as if they had gone stiff. There was an airy silence, tension mounted around them and Kiyax gulped. It seemed to last forever before Iron Rust looked at her, his eyes where large and nervous. The sound of a beating heart was obvious, but she didn't know if it was his or hers. "I... Kiyax murmured, barely more than a whisper, her eyes locked on his. Finally she summoned up the strength to speak, "Oh Iron Rust, I'd...I'd be happy to accept your offer!" She blurted out suddenly and for what seemed an eternity a grin of pure joy spread across her maw .

Iron Rust's nervousness melted away to pure joy when Kiyax spoke. His eyes lost the look of fear and love and happiness took its place. He nearly leapt into the air and let out a howl like a happy pup, but held himself back. He didn't want to put a bad impression into Kiyax's head right after she just agreed to be his mate. Iron Rust leaned forward and put his maw right up to her ear and whispered to her. "Now I have the most beautiful dog in the world as my mate." Iron Rust then looked into her eyes for a few seconds before turning and running off a few paces. He turned back to her and stared into her eyes with a playful expression on his face. He couldn't help it, he was so happy he had to get rid of the energy it created somehow. "C'mon Kiyax! Where do you want to go! I just feel like I have to run somewhere!" He now knew that he would be happy anywhere, as long as Kiyax was there by his side. The void in his chest had been filled, the half that he had once been was now a whole.
