When Shimmer stepped away from the tin of water Sandy stepped forward to drink as well. She had only just lowered her head and taken a few laps of the water before she heard a splash from the side of her. She lifted her head quickly to see what it was when she saw Shimmer standing triumphantly in the middle of a muddy water puddle with the squeaky toy held firmly in her maw. Sandy looooooooved puddles. She gave a little excited yip of pleasure before running toward the pup, the squeaky toy, and the puddle. Before she reached the puddle she leapt high in the air and landed with a giant splash in to the water. The water may have only reached her ankles, but she still managed to get her entire dirty white body completely brown. When the wave of water settled the samoyed laid down in the water and began to roll. She loved the feeling of the water squishing through her fur, the mud coating her coat, the only thing that she didn't like was the wet dog smell that emitted from her drying fur after the romp in the water. Sandy rolled over onto her back and continued to roll untill the squeak of the toy brought her up on all fours again. Her ears and the rest of her body were coated in the brown water and a thick coat of mud. It weighted her down a bit, so she shook herself. Droplets of mud and water flew through the air in all directions. Sandy probable shook for a good fifteen seconds before she felt adequitly demudded. She then looked around happily with her toung hanging out of her maw untill she spotted Shimmer. She saw that some of the mud she had shaken off had landed on the pup and the samoyed's ears instantly drooped. She didn't know how the pup felt about mud and she was afraid that Shimmer would now leave in a huff becuase she had some on her coat. She felt she needed to say something. "I... I'm sorry Shimmer. I don't know what came over me. I... I always get carried away when it comes to puddles and... well... I'm sorry I got mud on you."

Shimmer's ears had dropped to the side of her head less than impressed with the sudden spray of water and mud, though it was the splashing she had a problem with not the mud. She shook herself off too and bounded over to Sandy who incidentally hadn't yet mentioned her own name, but it didn't bother Shimmer she was just happy playing with the now brown not snowy white pup.
Dropping the squeaky toy and growling sharply as though she might attack, as he ears fell back against her head and she pounced falling sideways instead of on her new found friend she started chewing playfully on Sandy's front leg kicking with her back paws as the muddy water soaked further and further into her coat. Suddenly she got up again and took off dragging mud and water across the wreckage as she came around full circle to charge at Sandy her ears forwards now as she bared her teeth in mock attack lunging at the puppy in a tackling fashion she closed her eyes at the last few seconds hoping to collide with something fluffy and soft or wet and muddy rather than hard trash. Shimmer wasn't angry at all for being splashed, she was feeling more playful and daring though now and hoped Sandy would join in and realize in time that she meant no harm.

Sandy had given a quick yelp when she felt the sharp points of Shimmers teeth on her leg. They didn't hurt, but rather, they were just there. SHe snapped her head down to nip at her, but by the time her head reached her leg Shimmer's jaws had released their hold and the pup was running off. The brown Samoyed watched her run away, then circle back. Shimmer's teeth were bared and her ears back. For a moment Sandy thought that the pup was indeed attacking her, but the fact that she hadn't sunken her fangs deep into her hind leg told her that Shimmer was just playing. She watched asw the pup got closer and closer, Sandy could see the sunlight glinting off of her white fangs. She saw her eyes close, then the samoyed leapt up into the air. Beneath her the pup was about to run past, but gravity brought the samoyed back to the ground, right on top of Shimmer. Sandy hadn't been expecting the bulk of a living creature beneath her, so she gave a little yelp of surprise before taking a hold of Shimmer's tail. She held on to the tail for dear life, and leapt off of the pup.

At first Shimmer was relieved to have hit soft mud even if it was wet and cold but she hadn't expected Sandy to come toppling down on top of her and yelped in surprise. As Sandy yelped, Shimmer guessed something had gone wrong and kept running forwards suddenly aware of a sharp tingling sensation in her tail she collapsed under her friends weight but as she looked over her shoulder to see what had happened she saw that Sandy had just leapt off.
Suddenly the game was back on again and she got back to her feet quickly and running back over to Sandy, Shimmer flopped under her front feet kicking and hipping at her fluffy white neck playfully with bared teeth and a couple of playful barks as she waited for Sandy to nip or bite back. After a few seconds Shimmer got tired of waiting though and took off again barking and running she turned back around to face Sandy and lowered her front legs so that she was almost in a bow her head almost touching her paws as Shimmer barked again her barks were sharp and playfully high pitched as her rear end stayed up in the air her tail wagging slightly side to side as though she might pounce if Sandy tried to run at her.

Instead of running at Shimmer, Sandy turned and ran into the maze of garbage heaps. Her paws made small slapping noises in the many puddles of glop and grime as she ran and small dribbles of the stuff landed in her garbage plastered fur. The samoyed stopped in her running and paused to listen for the sound of oncoming footsteps. She heard none, so she lifted her maw and let out a long bark. Sandy then began running again, still leaving one ear cocked to listen for the sound of Shimmer running behind, giving chase. Sandy then ran to the top of one of the tallest garbage piles and stood on top proudly. She lifted her maw to the sky and proclaired. "I am the queen of the hill! And no one, not even Shimmer can take my place at the top of the heap!" Sandy then looked down to figure out where the small pup had gotten to. Her brown eyes scanned the maze of trash to find the tell tale brown figure racing toward her, but she didn't see anything. She tipped her ears forward to try to catch the sound of footsteps, but didn't hear them. Sandy began to loose hope that Shimmer was even coming.

Shimmer gave Sandy a head start, then bolted through the garbage piles tearing past lounge chairs half buried in junk, cans, broken bottles and glass colourful bits of this and that. It started to become a blur as she kept running, suddenly she came to a skidding halt looking around slowly with her ears perked upward.
She couldn't see Sandy anywhere, was she lost? Shimmer listened carefully getting slightly worried she tried to trace her footsteps and find her way back to the puddle, but the trash was so thick and smelly it covered all traces of where she had been and only served to get her more confused and bewildered. Then she heard Sandy's long bark of excitement and started running as fast as she could towards the sound but it vanished all to soon in the breeze leaving shimmer lost again and alone, she didn't like being alone and whimpered quietly to herself.
Where had Sandy got to? surely her friend would realise that this wasn't such a good game to have in such a large deserted place and come find her, but what if she too was lost? Shimmer's ears drooped to the side and she sat down upset and slightly lonely, when she heard Sandy's declaration of royal conquest from a garbage pile not too far away and she shot to her feet dashing off again towards the noise this time she managed to get within visual range and leaping over garbage and wreckage she bounded ever closer keeping an eye on her friend just in case.
This gave Shimmer an idea and she sank low into the trash, behind a worn old cardboard box there was just enough of it left to shield her from Sandy's view and so Shimmer started devising a plan to sneak up on her. creeping as quietly as she could over garbage mounds and trying her best not to slip and fall on things as she moved around Sandy's garbage mound and up behind her all of a sudden though her back foot scraped a small tin can and it went tumbling down the hill clanging and crashing all the way to the bottom.
"Ooops..." Shimmer beamed, knowing her approach had just been ruined she went to pounce anyway rolling over Sandy's back and attacking her feet again a little more gently than she had the first time. Feeling much better now she'd found her friend than when she'd been lost on her own Shimmer silently made a promise to try and stay as long as she could with Sandy and not get lost anytime soon... that was if she could help it, the only problem with this plan was that she loved playing these chasing games and in such a large dump it was almost inevitable that she'd get lost again.

Sandy had just been about to climb down from the garbage heap and look for Shimmer when she heard a tin can tumble down the garbage mountain accompanied by an "oops." She spun around just in time to see Shimmer leaping through the air at her. Sandy didn't have enough time to get out of the way and felt the weight of the pup on her back. It was quickly removed and she then felt Shimmers teeth lightly jawing her leg. She gave a playful yelp before leaping out of her grasp and running around the pup so Sandy was facing her back. She then pounced on the pup and grabbed her ear in her teeth. She gave a playful tug before losing her balance and tumbling down the mountain of trash. She made a lot of noise going down, disengaging all sorts of cans and bottles as she slid down. She yelped all the way as her form bumped painfully against all sorts of garbage that were poking out of the mountain. When she finally reached the bottom she was buried by the rest of the garbage that had been tumbling down behind her. Her eyes had been closed as she rolled, and once the weight of the garbage had settled she opened her eyes. Little pinpoints of light greeted her eyes. They were the only spaces she had between the mound of garbage she was buried in. She let out a loud whimper then called out to Shimmer. "Shimmer! Where are you! You didn't get buried too did you?!"

Shimmer hadn't expected Sandy to jump on her back and was still reeling from the gentle tug on her ear when she heard yelping and an avalanche of noise from down the garbage mound. Suddenly it seemed she was alone again and Sandy had disappeared, Shimmer went to investigate the pile of trash that tumbled loose from the side of the trash pile carefully navigating her way around this and that and any soft spots that might cause her to fall as she kept her ears forwards and open to any noises Shimmer thought she heard something from inside the trash mound that had collapsed but she couldn't be sure it was too muffled.
When she got there though shimmer could smell Sandy's scent all over it and little bits of white fur it seemed had become attached to certain drink cans and pieces of sharp things that looked like they had hurt. Shimmer wondered if Sandy had cause the loud crashing avalanche of trash she'd heard earlier and started poking around in the trash mound scratching away some of the mess until she found a small air pocket and could hear breathing and a slight whimper or two.
"Sandy...? you in here?" Shimmer asked quietly not wanting to cause a cave-in whilst she was head first and half buried herself in trash as she dug down trying to support the trash with her back and leave enough room to dig out the trash beneath her front feet, probably a space big enough for Sandy to crawl out if she was indeed buried somewhere in here.

A muffled yelp was the only response to Shimmer's question. A large bottle had been disengauged from the pile when the pup had walked on the junk, and it had landed in Sandy's open mouth. She had been about to speak when it happened. She shook her head quickly to rid herself of it, and it did fly out, but it had cut her toung with it's sharp edges. The sound of scrabbling paws convinced the samoyed that Shimmer would help her, would try to get her out of this helpless position. Sandy yelled at herself in her head. She was always the clumsy one. Always the one that had gotten into scrapes like this. Her ears flopped down onto her skull. Now a pup younger then her had to get her out, for the second time today.
The sight of paws brought Sandy's hopes up as Shimmer came closer and closer to her. Blood had filled her maw from the cut she had received on her toung from the bottle, but she still let out a small whine. She hoped that Shimmer could hear it. The samoyed began to wriggle, slowly at first, but rapidly getting faster. She had to break her paws free from the confines of the trash. She had to get out of this prison and over to the tunnel of light that Shimmer was creating. Her left front paw came first, then she used it to push herself up. Her right front paw then came out. Now it was easier to pull her haunches out of the garbage. Cans and such scraped against her, leaving the telltale white fur clumps behind. She hoped that was all that would be left behind. Scrapes and gouges dripped blood from her form as she finally began to crawl toward the opening that Shimmer had made. She caught sight of the pup's head and let out a small sound. She didn't want to open her maw, not just yet, or the blood that had been building up would all come rushing out. It would probably scare Shimmer, sending her running in the other direction. Sandy knew she would freak at the sight of blood gushing out of another dog's maw.

//ooc sorry for not replying sooner...
Shimmers ears perked up a little just enough to touch the sharp edges of objects and for her to draw them back against the sides of her head it was a small narrow tunnel of light she had created but she had been about to give up when she heard a yelp and a whimper that only seemed to return her frenzy of paws scratching and shifting scratching and shifting she slowly changed direction aiming straight for the sound which sounded like it was trying to move towards her as the sounds of tumbling cans and glass from above caught her attention.
If they didn't get out quickly they'd both be trapped in here, digging faster and faster Shimmer gained cuts on her paws and her already scratched under protected tummy caught on glass and sharp tin cans as she shifted all the trash she dug out and behind herself in what she hoped would be a manageable heap to be overcome later and not some devastating roadblock. Finally her sore and tired paws seemed to run into a warm pocket of air and she slowed digging knowing her friend wouldn't be too far ahead sure enough she entered a messy hole of white fur and the overwhelming smell of blood caught in her throat she hoped Sandy wasn't too injured as she barely had enough strength to get herself out of here let alone try and carry someone older and probably heavier.
Shimmers thick coat had protected her most of the way but there seemed to be more glass and cans here than anywhere else. "You sure know how to get yourself stuck... " laughed shimmer nervously hoping for some sign of life and movement if not a direct answer, "I'm usually the one falling in stuff and getting stuck..." she added a little more quietly as she clambered around the enlargened hole of trash now surrounding her friend Shimmer guessed it was her lucky day today as although she'd been having fun so far there hadn't been too much trouble involving her today and she'd managed to avoid getting hurt too much already but she knew the climb back to the top would be challenging she really needed Sandy to be able to move and even more so she needed her friend.
