"Sure. Where to, love?" Kodiak stood, shaking of the pine needles that had accumulated on his fur. He didn't need to feel them poking into him every time he moved. he could feel Dak breathing next to him as she pressed closer, and he almost dropped, her scent was so strong in his nose. Chocolate orbs searched the woods. No one. No one but them was out at this time of night, no one but them was crazy enough to go out for a midnight stroll. Only then did Kodiak realize that the night was coming to an end, the faintest hint of red was entering the sky. On the horizon came a touch of violet, followed by several shades of dark blues and blacks.
Sighing, Kodiak walked on, waiting for Dak to make a decision on where they were headed off to. It was getting late now, early, rather, and he was beginning to tire, his paws dragging more slowly, his pace a slow walk. He was ready to curl up next to her and fall asleep, counting the moments until they could be sure that they woudl be together. Together forever. Until now, Kodiak had thought it hadn't existed. But Dak had changed his entire outlook on life.

"I have no idea."she replied smiling. Dak could see the night was fdding away and she sighed following Kodiak, her tail wipped the ground a bit and she could tell he was getting tired and wated to sleep. Maybe it was just her wolf side talking to her now but she felt like running into nothing. Just keep running with odiak forever. She didn't though. "Hm-" she paused not knowing what to say to him. Her brown eyes searched the mouning sky as she walked the path with him. Her sweet smile was fadding as the sun came up and her soft brown eyes were getting tired a bit. Dak swung her tail back and forth as she walked on the path; her paw leaving prints in the moist dirt.
As a sigh approched her maw again she smiled not wanting to ruin the moment of a love connection bettween them. She got as close as possible with out pushing him ove Dak's ears went down and her tail dropped in sadness. Her soft brown eyes dropped to look at her feet and she had no idea what to say. All she could think of is nothing! nothing at all! She was bad at thinking of things to say. "Okward silence-" she paused then laughed.

Kodiak laughed as well, stretching his maw into a yawn. His fangs glinted in the dimming moonlight, as he ran his eyes around the area, searching for a place to rest. Finally, he found it, the roots of a tree that were splayed out, randomly crisscrossing in many different sections. He trodded over to it, laying on top of a comfortable section, stretching his body out to form a long, furry Kodiak. He yawned again, closing his eyes. He could still hear Dak's movements, and pictured her walkign over to him, her beautiful pelt glowing in the soft moonlight, her eyes looking at him with such intensity, loving intensity. He couldn't believe she was almost his, so close to his, yet so far away. She was gorgeous, more beautiful than any of the other females he had ever encountered. And she was right there....
Kodiak knew he had to wait, to make sure she trusted him enough. But he so badly wanted to make the relationship last, he so badly wanted her to be truly his, and no one elses. He would kill himself to get her to agree, he just didn't know how to ask. It wasn't like he could just say to her 'Hey, let's have pups'. It was more complicated than that. Much more complicated.

Dak saw the spot Kodiak chose and pdded over there; laying down next to him, her warm body touching his. She got as close as possible with out pushing him over and smile. Dakota looked at Kodiak's beautiful fur is the softened moonlight. Dak smiled and thought abut what their pups might be like if they did get together. Oh how she love Kodiak from his personality to his eyes. His eyes just wanted to make her melt in his paws for him to hold her forever in his paws. Dak put her head on her paws close to Kodiak's head and closed her eyes to rest with him. Her thoughts lay upon where they would be in futar....
Would they be together laying down with each other watching their pups play in the safe meadow? She opened her eyes and looked at Kodiak. His shinning fur reflescting amzing colors and her ears went flat as she closed her eyes again thinking about the utar as the moon lowered and the sun comeing up, painting the sky ornages, yellows, reds, and pinks. The awesome night had fadded away just like the stars fadded away. Dak opened her eyes and looked over to where the sun was rising. She sighed and closed her eyes again.

Kodiak was drifting, the light burning his eyelids. He didn't want it to be morning, he didn't want to wake. It had only been what, not even an hour? Or, maybe that's what it had felt like. Moaning, he let his eyelids flutter, open, and saw the beautiful Dak laying next to him, her warm figure stretched out next to him. He smiled, and shut his eyes again, not wanting the moment to fade with the moon. He knew the stars were still there, invisible in the light. The moon was, too, he knew, just hidden by the sun's light, appearing again once the sun was gone.
Stretching out farther, Kodiak felt the pull of his muscles, and heard their cries as he pushed the limit, stretching them as far as they could go. Relaxing finally, he lay flat again, letting himself drift off into sleep again. He could still feel Dak next to him, still hear her breaths as she thought, hopefully about him. And as she thought about their future, about what the two could hopefully become. What they could become together, forever and ever until death do they part. There it was again, that same quote. Where had he heard that before? Oh, right, at the human marriages. Ha, silly, silly marriages.

Dak's eyes flattere opened as the sunlight burned her eyes. Her looked at Kodiak and pricked her ears. She wasn't really ready to sleep but it did give her a little more energy. She streached out her sleek body carful not to wake up Kodiak who was right next to her own body. Dakota Spirit settled her body and felt Kodiak's heart beat. Each breath she took made her heart go faster with every heart beat there was she smiled. Her head went up and her nose twiched smelling a guest. A fox past by and as soon as it saw her awake it ran off. Dak smiled evily at the fox's run away, but then she put her head back down on her paws and laizly let her eye lides fall.
Kodiak was hopfully thinking of them, what he thought woud happen to them and all that great stuff. Dak remembered the night when she turned on all her friends and mate and killed them off. The bloodlust was on her that night. So much blood shead that night. She hated her wolf part sometimes. They were the perks and the downers. One of the worst thing that could ever happen if your wolf took over is kill everyone you love and care about. Dak just hoped she wasn't around Kodiak when the bloodlust was on her. She shook her head and thought about what their pups would be like.

Kodiak scented the fox, and his eyes opened. Sighing, he stood and stretched, careful not to knock Dak over as he did. He yawned, his fangs now glinting in the sunlight. Night was over, completely, and he supposed he wouldn't get in another minute of sleep, with the sun creeping over the sky now. "No more sleep, I guess. Not enough, nowadays. Used to sleep more than half the day away." But then again, that was when Kodiak was with his first mate, a day before she left him to give birth to their pups alone. He hadn't known what was wrong with that wolf, or why she had left. But if she hadn't gone, he would have never met Dak, and they would have never had this moment to themselves. "But that was a while ago, year one in the city. It wasn't even the city. It was these very woods we are in now." He laughed, shaking himself off of pine needles and leaves before sitting upon one of the larger roots, his tail curled aorund his paws. It was so quiet, he wanted something to happen. He wanted her to talk, to say something, to start a conversation. Sighing, he stared at Dak, thoughts racing through his mind.

Dak opened her eyes and saw that Kodiak was awake. "Hm, can't sleep now can you?" she tesed him hoping somethimg would happen. It was to queit and she just said something to break the okward silence. She stared at him her soft gold eyes had stopped glowing and had become brown again. Her ears went flat she had no idea what to say.
Her thoughts went back to her old friends. Why did it have to be that night at that time. It turns out it was the night the humans had all died out. She was left alone blood staining her maw with her eyes glowing red with hate for her friends and their blood over her body. she could only hope he didn't want to talk about their pasts with each other; it wasn't like she didn't want to tell him she did she really did but not right now. Dak thought it would make everyone afraid of her; well he ones she loved atleast. She kept it to herself for now and sat up on her hunches. Dakota streached up; her hindquarters in the air then setting on her hunches again. She smiled and waited for him to speak up.

"Why would I want to sleep longer when I can gaze at you instead?" Kodiak let a smile replace the tired edge in his voice, and nuzzled Dak's neck, feeling her fur run across his face. His smile turned sly, and he nipped the female's shoulder blade, not hard enough to draw blood. His fangs glinted in the early sun, and he imagined his pups, what they would like if they were also of Dak. Would they be white and tinted darker like their mother? Or would they be of his shade, a gray shadow with coarse fur and large, snowshoe-like paws? He imagined them to be of both, muzzles black, eyes chocolate and daring, paws huge and dangerous, built like a wolf, but could endure like an Akita. A small laugh escaped the massive male's maw, and he dug his muzzle further into Dakota's warmth, inhaling her scent like the humans had inhaled toxic fumes, like cigarette smoke. His paws dug into the wet earth, his tail swishing back and forth in a rythmic motion, sweeping the earth barely, then curling back up onto his back. Would his pups, did his pups, have his curled tail? Or were they destined to stay, be, flat, brushing the earth for the rest of the pup's life? Kodiak craved to see his pups, his pups from the past females he had fallen in love with. The ones who hadn't cared about his feelings, who didn't care whether or not he had wanted to see his kin. Who didn't care whether or not his heart was broken when they left.
(I think it's self explanitory....there shall be pups. But I think the dreaded question is when?)

"Your too kind." she smirked nuzzling him then looking back up at the sky. She felt his warm touch and gentle nip on her shoulder blade. Dak smiled playfully inhaling his sweet aroma. The ora in the surronding area was different then Kodiak's ora. His was more of a handsome devil face as the ora around them was a happy bunny kind of thing. She stuck her nose in his fur gliding her nose across his shoulder blade up to the base of his ear. Dakota nipped playfully at his ear carful not to draw blood with her fangs that could so easily end his life right then and there. Her thoughts of being happy were distent memories as the sound of rumbling under her paws were growing bigger. But what could it be? Dak felt an unease twist in her stomach. Her mind was throwing a big question at her, What was it? The sound fadded into the darkest deppest corners of her mind. The sound was driving her feet nuts but it fadded away for good this time. Her deviliosh face twisted into an angle face. Her tail pounded on the ground to a song that she remembered from when she was a cub. I'm so tired of being here, Surpresed by all me childest fears. And if u have to leave, i wish that u would just leave, because your presence still lingers here, And it wont leave me alone. These wounds wont seem to heal, this pain is just to real, There is just too much that time cannot erase. When you cry i'd wipe away all of your tears When you scream id fight away all of ur fears And i held your paw threw all of thee years but You still have all of me...... Dakota's ears flattened as her nose traced the line of his collar bone. She smirked and licked his ear.

(I have this song stuck in my head, and it isn't going away....so it might be a little lovey dovey. CRAP! Now it's I kissed a girl by Katy Perry. This will be fun.)
The air smelled like Dak, her sweet perfume wafting up inside his nose. He loved the scent, and dug his nose into her fur just to keep it with him. Soon. He thought. So soon. She was beautiful, and no one would be able to tell him otherwise.
Kodiak lifted his nose into the silent morning, catching a whiff of the nearby waterfall on the slight breeze. His fur caught in the breeze, as well, waving in different patterns as it danced in the cool air. He sighed, imagining that on a day like this, he could be licking his pups, cleaning them off from when they had just gone and played in the mud, even when he had told them not to. The question nagged on his brain. What would they look like? He couldn't get the thought of a chocolate white, huge pup, growing to almost his size in the first year, then taller than Kodiak, his father, the second. What if they looked like their mother? How many litters? How many pups? What if one turned out light? Kodiak didn't think he'd be able to kill his own pup, even if they were light. He would just have to send them on their way, banish them, so that Kodiak wouldn't have to deal with the pain of a failure. In his eyes, a light pup would be a failure. Definitely.

Dak's eyes were flirty and her devil eyes grew soft. This had never happened to her before. She was a little confused but pushed thqt behind her. Another question burned in her mind. What if the pups were light? Dakota could handle netrul but not a light. She knew they would have to send them away. Maybe she would send them to her sister Embersky. She was light and she loves pups so very much. No matter if they are dark or light. Dak was drawn by the scent of his fur she craved it so badly. She wanted to claim him as her own right now. Her eyes sparkled against the all to bright sun. Dak looked at his too perfect face. How did she get a guy like him?
Kodiak's features were perfect in every direction you looked at him and no could tell her anything different! His eyes were what Dak saved for last when she looked at him because she knew once she did she wouldn't be able to stop herself from staring. Kodiak was just too beauiful for words. Nothing could express how she felt right now. She nuzzled into his head a little then nipped his ear and smiled as the breezed caressed her fur.
