Ripper padded away from the tubes to stand beside Kodiak, who was explaining what the messed up bones were. His ears perked at the other brutes story.
"The same thing happened to you? Woah, dude! That is twisted."
Ripper looked at Kodiak with a curious gaze.
"So, Kodiak, what did they do to you? Back where you came from."
The wolf husky hybrid sat on the cold, hard floor, waiting for the other brute to reply. He whirled his head around to look for Carrie, but he suspected that she would join them pretty shortly. He yawned and let his orbs wander the abandoned room, while his auds were perked up, listening out for the brute's, or Carrie's, words.

Carrie wrinkled her nose in disgust but slight horror. She headed over to where Ripper was and planted her hindquartesr on the ground, forelegs keeping her upper body erect. Her ears were erect as she listened to him explaining about the bones. She looked closely at them and then realization dawned on her. She lifted an upper lip of her maw and began talking.
"You know what these remind me of?" she said quietly as he chocolate orbs moved onto Ripper and Kodiak. "Do you guys remember the old horror movies, that the humans had folk legends about werewolves? This is exactly what this reminds me of. It doesn't look canine, yet it doesn't look human. It somehow meets inbetween it. You dont think that the nuclear bomb created some kind of mutants do you?"
Carrie's voice faltered slightly as she looked from Kodiak to Ripper. That would be the end of the canine civilization as she new knew it. While the dogs ruled the world now, anything larger than they would be seen as predators and this thing lying on the cot was certianly bigger than they were. If anything like that ever survived, the dogs would be in grave danger. Shivers ran down her spine as she sat there.
"I think we should get going. There's more to explore here and those bones are giving me the freaking heebie jeebies," Carrie said as another chil ran down her golden fur and spine. Ears raised on either side of her skull, awaiting to hear any response from Kodiak and Ripper. Her nose twitched. The air in there was beginning to get stale and the stink of something that died was heavy here. She pulled herself up onto all fours and padded forward a bit before waiting.

The large husky cross stood up and looked into Carrie's eyes, nuzzling her briefly.
"Don't worry sweet-thing, whatever that thing is, whether it is a hybrid, a werewolf, or some tortured, polluted canine, we don't have to worry about it. It's only bones."
Ripper smiled and nudged Carrie playfully before spotting another flight of stairs, leading up to another floor, maybe full of new discoveries. He motioned for the other two to follow him again as he quickly padded up the stairs, to be greeted, yet again, by another odor. It smelled.....of dog. Dead, rotting dog. He looked around in horror to see rows upon rows of tiny, steel cages, that reeked. When he slowly approached one he saw the remains of what seemed to of been a puppy. Ripper did not usually care for puppies, but this was one of the few times where he felt sorry for them. He whimpered softly before turning back to the stairs, waiting for his companions.

Carrie felt Ripper nuzzle her and raised an eyebrow at him but her expression was amused but she was grinning at him. She poked her head into the room where he had gone into. The cages upon cages began getting to her. While Carrie didn't mind puppies, the site of one remains in the cage got to her and she quickly woofed and pulled her head out of the room. She began walking down the hallway, her nails clicking on the floor. Each room she carefully poked her head in, scanning around. The remains of the human lives seemed to be frozen in time as she spied a old plastic cup from Dunken Doughnuts still on the desk.
Computers were dusty and the monitors had cracks in them. Some of the rooms looked topsy turvery and was littered with papers on the ground. She briefly wondered what life was like in here. While she wasn't around when the bomb had gone off, she wondered what it would've been like to live here alongside the humans. Some of the stories had been entertaining, those that were passed down from generations and generations, she silently had to admit that life back them seemed facinating. Of course she'd never actually admit it though. No. She was never oen to admit things out in the open. Stubborn she was too. She walked along side Ripper as they proceeded down teh hallway. Behind her Kodiak was walking. Carrie turned her head around to look at him.
"What about your family? Are they around much? I mean like do you know where they are?" Carrie asked him curiously.
Her own canine family she had no idea where they were in the city or if they were living in Canine Ridge, the island that is off the city's main harbor. There was a bridge that connected the city and an underground tunnel. She waited.

Kodiak looked at Carrie, his eyes grim. "My family? The kodiak got most of them, I killed the rest, including my owners." He replied solemnly, laughing to himself that she wanted to know. He had never answered a question about his family before, and it had gotten him thinking. Why exactly did that bear kill them? Were they just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or was it intended? Kodiak remembered watching an old movie called Final Destination, where Death worked in a pattern, killing everyone one by one, in order, until they were all dead.
Laughing again, Kodiak ignored the other upstairs room completely, not wanting to find the source of the awful stench. "But I remember that after my father had bred my mother, I think he was taken here, all the way from Alaska, to be worked on. Supposedly, this was the largest in the country, or so the humans thought, the best. That might have even been him on the table." Kodiak was telling the truth, he didn't exactly know what had happened to his father. All he remembered was his mother telling him that 'Daddy' needed to go to the hospital in another place, to be fixed. Apparently, this was what she had meant.

Carrie listened to Kodiaks words. She gave a slight chuckle when he said how he killed the rest. She looked at Ripper now.
"Imagine that? that must've been something to watch, huh Kodiak?" She laughed heartily as she yawned, lowering the front half of her body into a 'bow' , then stretching one hind leg out at a time. She enjoyed the feeling of her own body as she finished stretching and regarded Kodiak and Ripper.
"Do you guys belong to any pack? Cause if not I know two good packs that absolutely dispise the lights" she said wrinkling her nose in disgust even at the mention of the word 'lights'. She hated them with a passion. She didn't even know why they were still living here. If she had her way they would be exiled out of the city and the island and dumped somewhere. How they survived was not her concern. She smothered a snort of laughter at that thought before turnign to Ripper and Kodiak.
"What about you Ripper?" she asked as she began leading teh way up the second floor corridor which had a passage up to the third floor. She had no idea what had gone up there on third floor but they were abotu to find out now. Ears were raised on either side of her head as she waited to hear from Ripper next. He wasn't teh type to hold anything back so that was a good thing really. Carrie's nose twitched as she inhaled a bit of dust and sneezed, shaking her head from side to side, ears softly flapping against her head. The beautiful retriever padded down the corridor still, still poking her head into the rooms as she passed curious. She waited.

Ripper yawned and listened to Kodiak's story. He turned to the other brute and gave a slightly sympathetic smile to him.
"Woah, unlucky Kodiak, I wonder why the bear went after them."
"And I belong to the Mafia pack, if both of you are pack less, I suggest joining them. You would like it there Carrie, and you too Kodiak. You both would.
The large wolf hybrid then turned to Carrie, listening to her words and smiling.
"Ah, you wanna hear my story? Well, ok. I was born to the victim of a violent rape from an aggressive wolf, and I was an only child. My true mother, a Siberian Husky, died a couple of hours after I was born. I was adopted by a heavily pregnant femme. I am not sure of her breed, but she looked like a rottweiler. She was like a real mother to me, and when she had her pups, we were like a happy family. She was a dark, a true dark, but she still treated us kindly and fairly, like any mother would. Anyway, a few years passed and I left her, along with the other pups. We traveled together, discovering disturbing things about humans along the way, and then we went our own separate ways. And here I am."
Ripper smiled and smelled a awful stench. He wrinkled up his nose in disgust and hacked quietly.
"Yuck, what the heck is that smell?"

Carrie listened to Ripper. The mafia eh? Sounds like a good idea, Carrie thought as she regarded Ripper.
"Wow Ripper. Seems we all had a hard life. And yea the mafia sounds like a great idea. I think I'll join. What about you Kodiak?" Carrie asked turnning her chocolate brown orbs onto Kodiak as she waited.
Carrie picked up the awful smell and wrinkled her nose.
"Ugh! It smells like something died here," Carrie said pulling back her head in disgust and revolt. Her folded harks were raised on eitehr side of her head as she slowly padded around a corner slowly poking her head around the bend. There was another corridor, though this one seemed as though it was under construction, and a sign had been put up KEEP OUT DANGER.
"Hey boys check this out. Seems someone didn't want anyone goign down this corridor and this is where the stench is coming from," Carrie said as she stopped at the top of the corridor, standign rigid on all fours. She turned her head around looking over her shoulder at Ripper and Kodiak. She didn't know why this corridor was taped off but curiosity was now getting the better of her and she knew the boys would probably be the same way. Her nose twitched.
The scent was coming from one of the nearby rooms, but which room she wasn't able to dectect as there were scents of disinfectants long gone, as well as cleaning fluid and whatnot used to wash the floors. Even though this was almost eighty years ago, teh scents were still lingering there greatly. Carrie's lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue lolling out and resting over her bottom jaw as she waited to see what their next move would be.

The large wolf hybrid stretched and yawned, before shaking his long coat, and smiling at his companions.
"Well, Carrie, Kodiak, I am sure you would both be welcome into the mafia pack. You are both darks, after all. Siren will most definitely accept you both. Well....what I mean is, is that I think he will accept you. But darks like yourself, there is no doubt."
Ripper grinned and winked cheekily, before stepping back, nose wrinkled up in disgust as the stench of something that had died a LONG time ago was inhaled into his nostrils. He barked harshly and shook his head, disgusted. He raised his large crown and rolled his orbs, before turning back to Carrie and Kodiak.
"Jesus Christ! What DIED in this place? It reeks!"
Ripper shook his long, thick, two toned pelt, licking his maw and his drying, slightly cracked lips. He spotted a door, slightly ajar, which seemed to be the source of the stench. He sighed, before looking back at his companions dramatically.
"I'm going in!"
He woofed loudly, before he poked his head around the door, always the bold one, ready to jump in head first into these things. He gasped loudly at what he saw. He padded slowly over to a small ball of fur. He nosed it, retched as he realized that THAT thing was the source of the smell. It was in fact a puppy. A newborn. Covered in fleas, cuts, most probably made by whip marks, and rotting flesh. But it was definitely a puppy. He sighed sadly and pawed at it, almost affectionately, before he turned, to see many skulls, of both canines and humans, hanging on the wall. Some in jars, and there was even the skull of a large dog, or a wolf, and it was propped on top of a large box. He whined and padded out of the room again, still feeling sorry for the pup. He turned to face the other dogs, that had waited outside. He shook his head sadly and lay down outside of the stench filled room, closing his eyes and waiting for the others to do, or say something.
Muse: Wow, loads and LOADS! Character: Ripper Mood: Disgusted, slightly sad at the sight of a dead pup, and tired.
